Awesome thread, I love the varying styles of OGP! Here's a few that have yet to be added (I apologize for the bad old pics in advance...):

Thank you GR58! Your coins and sets are amazing!

Yeah same here, the shear size of the 5ozs make for a cool display in the OGP! If only they were a bit cheaper...

Decided to revive this great thread....thanks CelticKnot for the reminder...and thanks to all who posted..no clue how I missed the original

Edited to add: ahhhh...it is in "Modern Coins" and not the Commem thread. Any way to dup it there since most of the coins are appropriate for that forum?

I just moved it since we cannot duplicate it. You are right, overall it is a better fit for this forum.

Here are a couple that are not yet pictured.

1947 Mint Set in OGP. It is nearly impossible to verify an original 1947 Mint Set without the original shipping envelope. I blanked out some personal information in the address as this was originally sent to a family member. I have the third card of coins, but no photo with it.

Rather shockingly, as I was uploading the below photos, I realized that the shipping envelope is postmarked March 1948, so the envelope and coin sets may have been swapped many decades ago by a relative of mine. Unless, of course, it was still possible to order the 1947 Mint Set in early 1948.

Edit: I just found this in a CoinWorld.com article '
Quote:
The first Uncirculated Mint sets, with coins dated 1947, were offered in 1948. After the 1947 sets sold out, 1948-dated sets were offered to the public. Sets were again offered in 1949, but none were offered in 1950 due to

I will post some other older OGP set photos later.
