A bit of hair wear over the ear and too many rubs and facial marks prevent this from being GEM status. Nice flat patina with sharp details... MS-61 at best IMHO...enjoy!

No expert on Morgans, but my first impression was it is over dipped. I realize the different lighting pics might contribute to my impression. but either way it is sharply struck, MS-64

Ya, I was hoping for a consensus of at least 64 but nobody seems to want to throw their 2 cents in? Are the photos bad?

MS-62 unfortunately over dipped in my opinion.

Nice looking Morgan - I like the fact that Miss Liberty's cheek is so clean. I've seen some MS62 and MS63 Morgans with lots of bagmarks on the cheek.

The problem that I have with this coin is that in the photos, I can't see almost any remaining mint luster. That makes me say that it is MS61. But if the luster was still remaining and I just can't see it, this coin could possibly be as high as MS65.

There's no luster. In almost ten years here I've only seen two or three coins which have genuinely been overdipped - people use that term far too easily around here - but this looks like one. I don't think it will grade.

Clean looking coin but no luster is apparent in the photos I think it would market grade in the AU-58 type range.

Some better pics. This is darn near what the coin looks like in hand in terms of luster & shine. The first pics of the post were taken outside in overcast weather and it really dosent look that flat. There is a slight frostyness to the coin which could be the dip thing SD is talking about? I haven't encountered dipped coins before to know what to look for

Mark free surfaces, sharp strike. Maybe an acetone soak will help? This one looks dirty to me.

I've read about acetone dipping. What is the procedure?
