I'm thinking some where between VF-40 and AU-50?There is a touch of wear on the high points of the horn and hip of the bison. But I can't tell if it has been cleaned or not.

Looks AU to me with a lot of mint luster. It doesn't appear cleaned but I'm not a nickel expert.

AU-58
Not cleaned.

Good luster
Nice strike (split tail).

Just has the slightest wear on bison's shoulder, head, and horn. Also, on the highest points of the Indian's hair. Overall, a really nice Indian.

It must be the lighting then, because I see a lot of what appear to be hairlines in the fields, and the fields should be relatively clear of marks. If I'm wrong, then yes, AU58.

Mid-high AU with good luster works for me, too. Nice one.

Pro tip: hairlines are hard to photograph sometimes. Hairlined coins have those close-spaced lines over the whole surface though, rarely just one field, so you can look for them anywhere a coin. Look in the areas adjacent to where the image might be washed out by brightness, in this case under the chins of both figures. There is where you'll best see cleaning hairlines is they exist, and I don't see them here.

Well,I am far from being any kind of expert. That is why I come here to CCF.So I can find out what I don't know.I am happy with a mid-high AU.
I bought it from the LCS because it had that Wow look to it for Me and it was in My price range.I beginning to really like My LCS.He seems to be in line,or a little below, with most other places/prices I look up.

I looked at the coin again and I don't see any hair lines even in the areas that You suggested. But,then again, My eyes aren't what they use to be.My LCS was out of magnifiers and should have more in at the end of the week.

Thank You for your assessments.

Cross-eyed, the Sun is your friend with this. Rotated a bit under your loupe in direct sunlight, any hairlines will jump out at you.

I'll give that try for sure. And I think You'll be happy to know that I got a different camera. So,in the mean time, maybe these will help.
It looks like there is scratch in front of the bison's nose.Which I'm sure will effect the grade.
