Living in Lunchbag, err Lynchburg, VA. I've sort of gotten back into numismatics. What a difference 20 years makes with the Internet resources for study. (And a jewelers headset).
Grandfather was a numismatist. My fav coin of his to stare at was The Oregon Trail. Just make up a story while looking at it.

New member from L.A. County. I started collecting 3 years ago with some 10 oz silver bars, now I have a variety of gold and silver, U.S. and Canadian coins, pre-1933 gold, Morgans, junk silver... I have a problem with some coins that were damaged in a fire. Looking for suggestions about how they might be cleaned up if possible. The damage varies, but many are embedded in what was molten vinyl (from vinyl records that melted...). I expect that any numismatic value is lost. I have considered just re-heating the whole mess to separate out the coins. Anyone with ideas?

Greetings. Not a new member and have likely posted in this thread way back. Just getting back from a long hiatus. Live in Oklahoma. Collect in numerous genre of numismatics, to include reference and research materials. Happy to make new connections and reestablish prior connections.

Hi All,
Brooklyn boy turned on to searching for coins by my Navy Yard Grandfather in the late 50's as we searched for elusive 1909s (his birth year). Still have the 1909 VDB we preserved together in '59 (though not the "S"). Recently returned to the search and loving it just as much as I did then. Looking forward to hearing any advice you may have about how the craft and the target darlings have changed over the years, and looking forward to inspiring my own grandchildren to love it as much as I have. Merry Christmas to ALL!!!

Hey guys! I'm from a little town in Alabama and I've always been interested in coins and how beautiful they are, but in the last year I have started putting together my own collection. I absolutely love coin roll hunting. I'm really excited to join and learn from your knowledge and expertise of all things coin.
