Hi all, when I started collecting back in '97 I was aware of the major doubled dies, and really only gave those dates a real close eye. Then this coin came through my hands. Obvious to the naked eye, I started looking through my stash of LWC and found a few different RPM's. That was all that was needed to light the fire. Now I am in the process of searching my LMC hoard with the goal of assembling a date/mm set made up of nothing but doubled dies and RPM's. Anyhow, here is the one that got me hooked, 1956-D 1MM-001.

That is the first one I found also. Delighted that it was a $2.50 coin back then. But a BU coin was $25. So I stopped buying circulated cents and when to buying rolls of BU cents instead. It seem like the better way to find a variety and it would be worth more. But now most of the OBW rolls have pretty much dried up. (I guess I bought too many from the local shows.)

My first find was a 1938-D/D RPM#2. I had purchased a BU roll from an old estate and was going through it with my newly-purchased stereo microscope when I saw the odd mintmark. That was in 1989, and like coop I've been buying and cherrypicking BU rolls ever since. I do find OBW rolls still, though usually not at shows. Rolls in general are tough to find at shows since they are heavy and not valuable enough to justify folks carrying them around.

Nice, found one in 2013 at a Mini Mart. Someone had dropped off about 10 solid rolls of Wheat Backs, this is the RPM I found out of that batch.
