Did you get a email from the US Mint? I didn't see it on the site.

I still wish it was in silver. I'll just buy a legit 1917-1930 SLQ . Something in good shape, and problem free. The mint dropped the ball with these.

Big unknown is how many will be minted? The gold dime was at 125k and sold out quick but you can get a 70 grade coin for around $260 (issue $215)

Watch her tweezers slip and possibly skim the surface of the coin at about 1:10. Someone will probably receive a nice scratch on their coin. She's also not wearing any sort of mask over her face. No wonder some of the coins end up with spots.

100k will minimize any decent price appreciation...one per will help everyone get one for themselves which is probably a good thing...eliminating an "all in" product and making it more a collectable than a greed item
Definitely will save me some cash...

I like this coin. I will be a buyer at 9:00:01 a.m. on Sept. 8th, although with the mintage and household limits I think I could probably wait until 9:01 a.m. Here's something I never see anyone grousing about, so maybe it's a non-issue. The ordering period for gold commemorative coins are always on the weekday and start at 12:00 p.m. That means if you're a working stiff on the East Coast it's convenient because you can start dialing during your lunch hour, but everyone else in the country has to interrupt their workday (maybe even sneak in a call) during regular working hours. I just retired in June as an elementary school teacher on the "Wrong Coast," and I couldn't turn to 30 4th graders and say, "Alright, everyone be good now and sit quietly while teacher makes a phone call." Fortunately for me, the last few offerings happened to be come out during vacation periods (I especially recall the HOF issues and the first 5 oz ATB coins) so I was able to get in, but what about your standard cubicle denizens? Maybe they should have it on the weekend, or some kind of lottery system. I know that no matter how you do it, "you can't please all the people all the time."

Oh yeah, now that we know the SLQ release date, when are the Walkers releasing? (I predict 12/1) (Hey if they released on Thanksgiving it would still be on a Thursday and most of us would be free to call although we might miss some football.)

Congrats on your retirement! With 100k available at ~$500 each and a HH limit of 1 you won't need to hurry. There is no chance of a 5 minute, or even 5 hour, sell-out. You can wait until your left coast lunchtime if you want. And yes, the 1/2oz Walker will likely be a November release.
