quote: I would like to quote some of the posts on this forum for my ebay listing. Since I have limited knowledge as to the qualities of this coin, I'd appreciate if I could quote the members here anonymously. If you object, please feel free to edit the post that I quoted to delete it.
Mespe, I've tried to be on your side but I can't be 100% any more. I see a lot of wrong in this. The correct thing to do would have been to ask first if you could quote them. You came here looking for opinions from pictures, then holding members to it by posting quotes in your listing without even asking. Then you basically say "If you don't like it, delete your post then." Pretty nasty. I also notice in the quotes at the top all the qualifiers like "In my opinion" or "judging from the pictures" have all been completely left out. The rest of the quotes are all buried in smaller print in the middle of a very long paragraph at the bottom. Pretty sneaky but not fooling me. Then you try to get members and staff to remove references to evidence of past sales of this exact same coin so that you can possibly get more for it. Sorry but we are here to serve the Coin Community as a whole, not your wallet.

I now understand Bobby, I really wish I hadn't quoted anyone. It was an err of judgement on my part. Had I not placed the $20 featured listing bet with ebay, I would consider canceling the auction and cleaning it up a bit. You'll notice I wasn't to good with the overly large picture, I should have spent some time and done it right. Haste makes waste, well in this case haste makes some want to shower and scrub down with a wire bursh,,, My past experience with the Mercedes forum was completely different, as far as opinions, but that's another story,,, I am thankful though that the quotes got all mushed up and don't flow good making them hard to read,,, Sneaky, I don't think so, once someone posts something to a forum, it's public record, did anyone mind me posting a link to this thread? I did however have the thoughtfulness to inform members that my error in judgement might want to be cleaned up,,, Actually in re-reading the quotes, I think it mostly is informative and will probably increase the number of forum members,,, Most of the discussion was about how the coin might have been made, how coins are minted, different errors about coins,,, it wasn't 10,000 this coin is a "one-of-a-kind, super-rare, extreme to the max error. Neato! " hype,,, it's mostly educational,,, But none-the-less I shouldn't have pladgerized anyone on this forum. Sorry

Public record, yes. Plagerizable, no. I've had ebay auctions taken down for copying content from here. This isn't the first time I've dealt with situations like this and it won't be the last.

Also FYI, you say in the listing..... quote: As it turns out, this coin is a MAJOR DIE BREAK a much RARER coin then a Cud.
You do realize that this coin is a Cud right? A Cud is the result of a die break on the rim. All Cuds are die breaks.

Well bobby, I really don't even think it is plagerizing, I did put every quote in quotation marks AND I referenced the quotes. However, I do feel at this time that my actions were indeed improper,,,

All the knowledge, every last bit of it concerning error coins has been learned in the last 7 days or so. I had absolutely no idea what a Cud was, before I listed. One kind forum member recommended I use the word Cud in the item title. I quickly changed it (maybe a few minutes before the first bid) Then the learning started as my thread was posted to. Some of the things I said about the coin are incorrect, such as the last item you pointed out. Just shows my inexperience in dealing with "one-of-a-kind, super-rare, extreme to the max error. Neato!" I love that quote,,, I tired, to the best of my ability, to accurately describe the coin. I even offer a guarantee that the coin will grade to be a mint error - AND - require no deposit from the winning bidder if teh price exceeds 10x the cost of the certification -AND - give the winning bidder the coin if it doesn't certify,,, Seems to me like I'm going a bit overboard,,,

I'd end the listing, get it certified, and start over. I have a lot of experience on ebay and I'm telling you 99% of the visitors don't read a neat and tidy listing.... let alone one with all the additions, different fonts, unwieldy photos, confusing guarantees, and conflicting comments that your's has.

You know, I'd hate to take a "one-of-a-kind, super-rare, extreme to the max error. Neato! " coin off the market and upset a bunch of bidders. I realize I may not get as much because it's not certified or graded, but since quite a few buyers took the time and iniative to bid, I really don't want to yank it away from them, like some other ebay sellers do because they're not happy with the price,,, this coin will sell, unless ebay pulls the listing. p.s. I never was into being microsoft certified, but that didn't stop me from the IS field.
