It's hard to use these coins in the states so before I toss these or give them away I was wondering if there is anything I should look for. These are the coins I have: one cent 1963 1970 1974 1979 1981 1987 1990 1867-1992 1993 1994 1997 2001 2006 five cents 1964 1985 1987 1989 1998 2001 ten cents 1973 1999 I'd appreciate any help. chrycopaul Pillar of the Community Canada 1106 Posts	Posted 11/14/2007 5:43 pm The 1970 10 cent coin is a HTF coin. I know there are members here on this forum who are trying to find one. The 63 is silver. I just noticed you have two 10 cent columns. I guess the first should have said one cent which would make my original reply incorrect. They are all common dates. I assume that even though the Canadian dollar is worth more than US, Canadian coins are still not welcome when it comes to spending them. As for the 1970, the dime is very hard to find in circulation, with around 5-6 million minted. The 1970 cent isn't anywhere near as scarce, though. :( Report this Post to the Staff

Canadian coins not welcomed at all and cashiers give nasty looks when I try to slip a Canadian coin by. So I always lose cents when I find any in rolls. Once I took all Canadian change I found in a bunch of rolls and returned it to the bank. I was reembursed in U.S. money. Over $1.00. I've never had the guts to do it again though. I was very upset that day because I was fed up with not getting fair exchange from banks. Report this Post to the Staff
