I posted under varieties but like opinions from the guys under this category. After the attribution of the 1919 mercury DDO these make me wonder. Picked it up for $7.50. Would like opinions. Maybe send to Bill Fivaz
The 1926D is affected by Machine Doubling on the date. Hub doubling is what creates a doubled die, they are essentially interchangeable terms. Repunched dates are not possible on any 20th century coin series as the date is part of the hub design. Any "overdate" on a 20th century series coin is actually a Class III doubled die(design hub doubling).
