If I felt they were worth $650 to me and he asked $600 I would tell him that $600 sounds fair, but I actually think I can do a little better than that and I'd then offer the $650. (OK I admit I might only offer $625, but it would be over his requested amount.) Why? Because if I think $650 is a fair offer then it is a fair offer. To offer him less just because he didn't ask that much would be, in my view, an unfair offer. How many times on this and other forums have we heard members complaining about seeing a dealer lowballing a "little old lady". What if this guy had said $100? Would you still go with B? It's just a matter of degree folks. As the amount in B gets smaller, at what dollar amount does it go from being OK to you being a lowballing scumsucker? You determine what is a fair and you pay what is fair.
