I knew it was only a matter of time, and with PCGS offering the $10,000.00 price on its head alot of people would be looking for it. The person probably knew a mint employee and had them make one up just for the 10 grand and he split it with him
Edit:I posted my concerns about this coin before ever reading the story and after responding to all the posts on the forum (or atleast reading all of the new ones) I went and read the webpage linked above and to my surprise they seem to attack the same scenario that I was thinking. They took it a little further and noticed a link between this and the faceless dollar with edge lettering which both came from a area very near to the Denver Mint (one a hours drive and one only 8 miles from the mint) so this is furthers my speculation that this was a coin minted for the purse PCGS was offering and not a mistake made
an extra $5000.00 (half the PCGS purse) is a pretty good haul and could get a mint employee to do all kinds of stuff, especially right here at Christmas
