Good advice.

As I said above, I use cardboard 2x2s, even if just for temporary use. If I get a coin from a coin show in a flip, I usually move it to a 2x2 before I leave.

Is that what happened to this 100 yen? IIRC, I bought it in a junk box -- probably no one thought that silver could look like this. I keep it in a 2x2 so it doesn't contaminate nearby coins.

Not meaning to sound callous, but IMHO this coin has only melt value, and I'm not sure PVC affects melt value. Why would you treat it?
