I think even CP still has stock, obviously this year was no rush, and I hope its not a yearly issue. The anniversary coins were special and generated a lot of comments and a good discussion, but like someone posted the RCM loves to milk dead cows. Is there anyone with an up to date superman collection.

Its interesting the LT gold coin hasn't sold out yet and only a few reviews too. At least with the Looney Tune gold there's a pocket watch included, and still it doesn't seal the deal. My conclusion there is too many pop culture coins released and being expensive, there isn't enough collector interest. The world mints are doing pop culture to death. I wonder how Dr Who coins are doing, for me they started it all. Sellouts and instant price appreciation, its taken nclt collecting in a different direction. I wonder if these pop culture coins have added any new coin collectors.

You got to wonder about their inventory control, or are these returns.
the RCM never stops amazing me. There is no rhyme or reason to their operating.

In a hundred years there will be a vault discovery of unsold superman coins. Especially of these half ounce versions!

@ John I would agree, they make to many variations on a theme. Look how many LT coins were released. Someone commented that the RCM is becoming the Franklin mint, I did not want to believe. The coins have lost any imagination of past years and the quality is sinking. The frosting was beautiful in the 1980s, today is inferior. Also the early coins taught us about our history, if we read up on them. Today I look at most coins and go why. There has been too much push for innovation, as opposed to true craftsmanship with different finishes. The emphasis needs to be on the finishes. Also someone needs to get a cougar head right, its never matches the body! Too many coins they lose sight of quality control.
