I searched two FED boxes and came away with 18 40% silver and 1 1964. I will be picking up 6 boxes on Friday and hope to find more silver.

I picked up the other 10 boxes of the 20. Ten more skunks. That's 20 skunk boxes in a row.
But then after returning all the skunkers, I picked up 2 boxes from another bank. The one was damaged and I opened it to make sure they were all there. On the top was a walking liberty peeking out. All together out of this box, I got 4 walkers, 1 Ben, 2 1964 and 20 40%ers. The second box had 1 40%er.
The Ben was a 63D The walkers were 1941D 1944 1946 These 3 walkers are the best condition I've ever found in circulation. The 4th one was a no date badly worn.

Nice. I have not gotten silver in the last 4 boxes, but somehow I have gotten $2010 when I returned the rejects from those 4 boxes. I wonder where that extra came from.

I agree. Hats off to Don. $10k of halves in less then a week, despite not finding any silver. True dedication. What area are you in so I don't try to get halves from there? javascript:insertsmilie(' ')

I've always wondered, how in the world do proof halves (or any coin) end up in rolls of circulated coins?

People inherit or steal them, but they do not know what they are. Or the rightful owner is desperate for cash. So they spend or dump them.

Or uncle Ed buys a bratty nephew one, and the kid decides he would rather have an ice cream then a really shiny set of coins.

For the life of me I do not know how anyone can get any bank to take thousands in returned half's each week?

Today's haul wasn't nearly as good as the $83 face in 90% that I found last week; only five 90% and 11 40%. But one of the 40% was a well circulated 70S proof.

I went to a different town today and hit about ten banks and came up with 28 rolls and got 36-40%. Also grabbed 62 Ikes. One was a 1976D type 1. I also have a mess of 1972's to search through.

In three weeks I've searched $800.00 and only found 1-90%, 4-40%,7 4 proofs. What is with the 1972 that I should watch for?
