I assume that happens a lot when I find deals like that. The dealer probally just doesn't have much in it and is willing to move it for lower prices. I see that a lot for everything except silver. It's super rare to not see silver with a premium over spot unless you buying from the public in my parts.
I agree; you got a nice deal, but the dealer may have scored also. It's possible that he bought both of those items for $5 each, so he might have doubled or tripled his cash.
Just to show that the pendulum swings both ways, I was at the local Antique Mall and one seller had this set priced at $90.00 That is a nice looking set.
