Well I suppose that comes out to $18/oz which if you figure that for an ASE is a good price so the premiums may not be too different. The only gamble is that the ASE collector base is much larger and in the future will not have any trouble selling them. But hey worst case scenario you get melt for the pirates and it is a popular design.. I would say they are about the same so shouldn't be a bad deal either way!

I was also going to grab numerous P3. Decided not too. P1 was a definite hit. Everyone loves it. Numerous people "missed the boat" on stocking up. P2 came around and was not well received. P3 comes out and it's liked 5x better than P2 and less than P1. People will now load up on P3 after seeing P1 sales. They are not releasing mintage numbers so they could be making them 24 hours a day. I think the P2 could be the sleeper hit due to possibly lower mintage. Decided to just stick with my 3 of each and move on. Good Luck to you.

I was thinking the exact same thing on the p1/p2 and how it will effect p3 theory Ryan, as well as p2 being a possible sleeper and p3 havING too many people going all in. But provident has been good with only keeping the other 2 running for 2 months or so. Plus I'm sure with the popularity that they will be sticking with at least a p5 run so in 2 months it should be on to p4. I bet I'm over thinking it but don't we all lol.

Kairu, that's why I brought up the comparison to the 2016 ASE.

Did the p2 have a price jump from presale to when it was released?

If I have the money to put into silver and since you brought up the comparison btw ASE and this, I would definitely go with this series (P3). Since the premium btw the two is the same, you will have better pricing if selling retail (dealers will probably only pay spot price if you need to quickly unload though).

I was able to get 3 P1 from a dealer at show for around $40/ea, I bought 4 P2 + 15 capsules from Provident. I just bought 7 P3 from JM w/ Credit Card (a little cheaper than from Provident). I have already spent too much for this month (over $700) on silvers..... and I have other silver coins on my top buying list. I may grab a few more + the capsules from Provident next month, if there are budgets left.

However, I believe the ATB bullion purchase will trump this series...... and so far I am only able to get 1 bullion + 1 P ATB per release. Why? Because I went in deep w/ silver Libertad (2014 & 2015). I also need to save up for the gold Libertad (with mintage less than 2000).

Buying one of each, at least. I like the pirate motif, and it is a 2 oz. coin. as you say, worst case, melt.

The first one is still the best, IMO, but they're getting better at engraving.
The Captain is ok, better than the mermaid.

I don't have mine in an airtight but instead in a little case and my P1 is starting to tone. Anyone else notice toning on theirs?

No signs of toning on mine, but has anybody gotten airtites that fit well for these? I'm interested in getting a few for mine.

Read this the other day. Definite P4, P5 possible. "Privateer was guaranteed to be a minimum of three in the series weather it was popular or not. I was looking at P4 progress today. The 2 different series Privateer and American Land Marks are offset so P3 is just wrapping up soon will be ALS3 on sale then P4 and possibly so on for either series. At this point there is an ALS3 and there is going to be a P4."

Nice. Can't wait to see the p4 design. Any hints coming out yet? I think either a scurvy dog deckhand walking the plank or 2 dueling ships both broadside with cannons going off would be killer!

Fighting ships sounds like a winner. Or two pirates engaged in sword battle on a ship. I post everything I hear. Anyone else?
