is there still a remind me on 2015 March of Dimes Special Silver Set if it already sold out.Is there a chance that I still can get one.thanks

With the Mint's sales figures on this set at 74,890 of 75,000, I'd say your chances of buying this set from the Mint are slim. You can click on the Remind Me button. The Mint will notify you when it is available again.

but it looks like the thing to do is just send the RP in for grading, it's the only coin in the set with any potential, and hard to get a perfect grade on it from what I'm hearing.

I would agree that the only coin to grade would be the RP...I sent my 1st 10 sets to NGC and got 6 RP70's back...did better than the PF dimes

I have 3 more sets coming this week...I'll have to decide about grading those 3 RP's

...and regarding the "Remind Me" thing...I've never gotten a reminder for ANY set I have used it for. This forum is of more use for letting us know when sets are available...but..maybe it will work this time

The 5 sets I sent back that a lot of people said I would NEVER get replaced will be here tomorrow!

That's good to hear. I hope they are better than the first shipment you received.

Today I received the additional ten sets that I ordered. As a reminder, I returned three of the five sets I originally received due to problems with the PR dimes and dollars. I can say without a doubt that the quality of these ten sets is significantly better. Eight of the ten sets are virtually perfect. On the other two, one RP dime has what appears to be a small pencil mark near the date and the other RP dime has a glob of something on the reverse. There were also mirror imperfections on two of the dollars, so I put those with the RP dimes that are imperfect. These two sets will be going back. I'm very pleased because I thought that the quality level would be about the same.

From the sets I got, the ratio of nicer looking RP to PF dimes is about 3:1.
I will definitely send in the RP to be graded by NGC, my personal debate right now is: Should I send in a few of the 'nicest' PF dimes and dollar? What do you guys thing (the cost is about $20/coin by NGC). I need to use some of the proceeds (from selling these) to pay off for my other sets.

Note: I do have 1 set graded NGC PF 70 (bought at the height of $320) and also intend to keep 1 raw set.

RP's are a go....

PF's sell for around $65-70 in PF70 (Early Release)

$1's sell for around $60 in PF70 (ER)

Your coins will not be ER so should get a bit less...

not a big win with the 70's and definitely not if they come back 69's

I would NOT grade the $1 and think about the PF dimes...maybe...if I was only sending in one or two RP's then I might add a couple/few PF's to make the shipping worth it....

Which is ironic in my opinion because based on the quality of the RP's that I received, the later produced ones are superior than the early produced ones. Of the 12 sets that I received yesterday and today, not a single RP has a strike problem. The 2 of 12 that have issues are due to crap getting inside the capsules.

Thanks Foxwoods Man.

I will have to look hard at my PF dimes.... it's not worth the cost to get the PF graded if they don't come back 70.

Unfortunately I missed out on this set. Do they still come up on the mint website on random occasion?

@corey151302

The Mint's latest reported sales put the set at 74,848 sold. Whether or not the 152 remaining will be available at a later date is anyone's guess, though it has happened before (i.e. Baseball HOF silver dollars).

Ah, that may be too few for me to be lucky enough to catch one. So if I buy on the secondary market is it better to buy today or wait a bit in your opinion for a better price?

In my opinion, I think these sets will show a little weakness as we go through the year. There's a lot of special mint products being released this year and I think collectors will turn their attention to them. I could see these sets dropping below $80 (they currently hover around $80-$90 on ebay).

There's always the option of utilizing the remind me button on the mint's product page, but I've heard the notification is slow to arrive if at all.
