I did a search on the forum, but didn't find anything on this. I just found it interesting, but I'm sure there's a simple explanation. Homestead looks 3D. I saw it immediately and compared it to others. It was hard to get good pictures. I have more I can share if needed.
The ATB Quarters have the outside devices of the coin incuse on the design. When Machine Doubling happens on them the devices enlarge. Here are a few examples: The devices on the die are raised, So when they move during the strike, it makes them larger. Because they are larger many think they are a doubled die, but just Machine Doubling.
