Looks like this one was painted? Anyone see this before? I don't think its a fake

Ps - I don't have an accurate weight.

This coin was cleaned and then plated. It would have been one of thousands that were processed this way to be placed in sets with a WW-II theme and sold to non-collectors. These sets almost always included the 1943 zinc plated steel cents (that were reprocessed) and often some WW-II era postage stamps.

That's a 1944-D

Shame it's been cleaned and painted as koinpro says.. It's pretty detailed, I haven't managed to find any like this.

Blue solo - u are correct. 44d. - was a typo

It is a shame. It's probably a pretty good coin under there.
