I just bought a couple lots of uncleaned ancients. A few looking to have some meat left and the price was good. I have cleaned a few before and really enjoyed it. Here are seller pics of the lots I got. There are suppose to be 30 coins between these two pictures and I gave roughly 70cents a coin. I don't think I am going to get rich from any, but it will be fun to see what I get, and better gamble then a lottery ticket. The two red ones might be down to bare metal, but they are fallen horseman reverses. A few others look interesting, like the small one on the right. The one in the middle looks good with a person standing on it. A few others don't look bad.

Looks like you should be able to clean most of them but it's going to take some work.

Use three or four tubs (more if you have them) distilled water or di-ionised water changed regularly as it becomes cloudy. Leave them somewhere you pass by regularly, give them a shake as you pass. Have a look at them in a week or so, great fun.

I can't pick out anything except the horsemen (pretty dang common, but I think they are pretty cool myself), and the VOT X X MULT XXX to their right that you mentioned. Good luck and hope to see you post how they turn out.

looks like you'll have a few fully attributable coins there, yeah...post 'em when done.

I received them today, and am happy with them for the price. Here are some photos of how they arrived. I seperated them into nice looking ones, and not so great ones. The fallen horsemen look good, but they have very little patina on them, I know you want patina, but how much would it hurt them if I took them completely to bare metal since they are already partially there? Also, I think the little one on the second row, first colomne that looks to have a shield on it is cool, because it is concave/convex. Also, who is on the VOT XX MVLT XXX I don't think that is Constintine, like the first 3. Thanks for all help, and keep checking back to see my cleaning progress.

I agree, there is no point in saving the fallen horseman. Be careful as you take it down to the metal that you don't damage any of the pattern.
I think that the shield might be modern.

On the VOT XX MULT XXX, I believe the first part of the obverse legend reads DNGRATIA, which would be Gratian (378 - 383 AD). Can't tell the mint on the reverse.
