The dime is closing in on his purchase price if $1,351. I seem to recall once reading about a heavily toned 1795 half or dollar, graded AU. The buyer cracked it out, dipped and resubmitted it. It came back from PCGS, graded MS-64 or MS-65 and then it sold for over $100,000. Does this one ring a bell to anyone? The buyer was a numismatic author. Report this Post to the Staff
