That's a beauty and in great shape considering its age.

Thanks EconBrony. I think it would have been interesting if there was one for the NJ Turnpike too, but no. Buddy, I think though the token has 1952 on it, I think that style was used into the 1980s, though I can't say for sure. Still, I'm happen to get it either way. As far as I know this type of token was used until 2003. Though the Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority as nominally separate, it is basically the division of the NYC MTA responsible for bridges and tunnels. Its merger with the MTA in the 1960s was notable, because it coincided with the fall of its chairman, Robert Moses.

The tax token is a cool design.
I googled Sidney Street Transit for that last token. The closest thing to transit there today is a ride-share service. :/
Nice token though.

Interesting to see how many had similar background patterns. While they're all different, a lot have a sort of basket-weave design that goes to the rim.

@ Buddy
Yes very true, many of them do. I really enjoy the look, so it works for me :)
@ JESP
Thanks! The tax token was the first one I had ever seen some time ago, so I had to pick it up. The Sidney Street token was actually just given to me by my neighbor a couple of weeks ago.

Thank you EconBrony for creating this thread for transit token collectors. I started collecting them as a diversion from my U.S. and World coin collection, and I've been hooked ever since. I have some from nearly every city and state as well as some from Canada and Europe. I have many interesting and unique examples to show here. Just to start it off here's one with an Indian Head design, there's only a few I've seen that have this design.
