Is SEPTA still using tokens? I know they only just started their smart card fare program within the past year or so, so I am curious as to whether the date for eliminating tokens was officially set. Now for an interesting token from LA.

Jeepers! I just realized that I never publically thanked andyg! Quote: Have a tin of spares if anyone is interested.
So ... I posted him and he sent me about 3 dozen. Wheee! I put them in flips then into a notebook page and brought them to my local coin club for show and tell. They went all around the room -- quite slowly. So THANK YOU! A lot of folks in the midwest got to enjoy seeing them. And it's the only time I ever brought anything that they all hadn't seen before.

This is a photo I took awhile ago of Pittsburgh transportation token PA 765-A, using a macro lens, natural light and a toy horsecar. The large oval token is black vulcanite, measuring 45x35mm, and was good for a 5 cent ride on the Pittsburgh, Allegheny & Manchester Rail Way omnibus line around the time of the Civil War. It is one of the more popular transportation tokens, because of its age, size, shape, composition and its pictorial of the horsecar. I tried to increase the size of the image, but it got blurry.

Sure I got some, somehow. 1st one: Clipped means used. Pollet för vuxna = Token for adults Norrköpings Spårvägar = Tramways of Norrköping (with the city's crest in the center) 2nd one: L Pollet = L Token (No idea what L stands for) MSS = Malmö Stads Spårvägar = Malmö City Tramways I think you can read the rest.

I like the design on the Alameda Contra costa transit district token. Both are very nice
Im very excited about the Atwood/Coffee catalog as well. I'm looking forward to using it with my token collection. I've got quite few I'm hoping to identify.
