I see what you mean by the die scratches, Coop. I've really learned something here as I never would have thought to check for them. I am not seeing them above the memorial building, but they're very clear below it, and one of them (the shorter one) does seem to line up.
Qustion: Since the "line" running down bay 5 looks so similar (to me - though I've only seen pics, never the real coin) to the doubling shown on the other varieties I mentioned, or, for example, to the newly discovered 1959 DDR-003 (which is what kind got me keeping an eye out for these), is there a way to rule out the one (the die scratch) from the other (the doubled die)?
