ANACS Conservation? - Coin Community Forum

Came to the part where they have the option for conservation at their discretion? Has any one used this option before? Anyone have an idea of what methods they use? However, I submitted some coins today at the Summer FUN show and I like their $29 flat rate that covers up to 20 coins on your form.. I don't know what they use to decide to conserve or not (If a coin is controversial) If you have some coins (3+) with gunk or corrosion I would definitely recommend it. (A lot cheaper than the $10 a coin at some others) Report this Post to the Staff

Jaobler Pillar of the Community United States 6396 Posts	Posted 07/20/2015 02:21 am I sent in an uncirculated British Gothic florin for ANACS grading and requested conservation service based on the toning which seemed uneven to me. ANACS slabbed the coin as MS-64 but did not perform any conservation, stating that they didn't want to mess up the coin's original surfaces. I guess that is good news, because 1) my coin is apparently original, with no stains or coatings that could be removed via conservation, and 2) ANACS is not indiscriminate about conserving coins. If they don't think conservation is warranted they won't do it. Report this Post to the Staff
