1936 P Cent - Error? - Coin Community Forum

Cjeranek New Member United States 32 Posts	Posted 07/23/2015 2:37 pm I found this wheatie while putting together some sets for me and my boys and it didn't sound right. Now, I know wheaties are supposed to be roughly 3.1 grams except for the steelies and most1982 to present. This one came in at 2.57-2.59 grams after numerous weighing attempts, zeroing, and weighing other 1936 P wheaties and other years all of which came in at roughly 3.1 grams. I can't seem to find anything about it. Did I find a fortune? Thank you. Report this Post to the Staff

You might find a thin spot on the edge or the entire coin might be thin. But like John1 wrote: Don't quit your day job. If it is an error, it isn't a valuable one. Report this Post to the Staff
coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 07/23/2015 9:04 pm I agree, acid dipped coin. It reduces the overall shape of the coin evenly. Thickness and width. So it could be a bit smaller around compared with another coin. The rim are usually shows the reduction the most. Report this Post to the Staff
