What's Your Opinion On Dansco & Intercept Albums?

I would say that Dansco and Intercept would rate about the same. I use Dansco personally.

The tarnish prevention sheet really wouldn't be that helpful. The coin tarnishes from the edge to the center and is usually caused by the album itself.

I have never been an album guy but I recently got a Dansco for my type set and I quite like it.

Not quite airtights, but for ease of storage and portability of my tokens, non-Morgans ("lesser" value coins), and other coins not in slabs, I've been putting them in flips which I then put into plastic (mylar?) 3-ring binder photo album inserts, available at Walmart, Office Max, and, I presume any photo shop. I'm also not much of an album guy, but I certainly see their utility for those who are.

The main question to ask is: "Are the holders really airtight and moisture proof." If the coin is in a hard plastic air tight (That's been sealed) what it lays against won't harm the coin. I like using safe flips that have been heat sealed. I place these in a 3 ring binder that I have designed to act as an album.

Using an album is fine, however, great care must be used in placing them in the album. Use good soft cotton gloves and don't slide across the coin.

They are safe, however, precautions still must be used. Whether you use airtites, or kontains, or 2x2's, or whatever you like, a good DRY place is a must. A silica gel pack is highly recommended. These cost about $5 and can be reused many times over the years.
Even with albums, these precautions should be used.

I am constantly amazed that collectors will spend thousands of dollars on their collections but buy the cheapest forms of protection. Boggles the mind.
I recommend a 80/20 split for collectors. For every hundred dollars spent, 20 goes to TOP QUALITY tools and protection, and 80 on coins.

Good tools and reference material will save you SO MUCH money in the long run that it pays for itself. A good safe, and good protection also is a no brainer.

Airtites can average about a $1 and offer great protection. So why any coin valued at more than $10 isn't in one is just silly. You can use the holder over and over, so the cost is a one time purchase. IF and when you ever decide to sell the coin, keep the airtite. You don't lose the investment.
