Partial "S" in United states on this 1970's double die coin. Would that be a die error or post error? Large or small cent ?

Strike through or weak strike.Very common area on coin for this to happen. As to the date I believe it to be a large date.A pic of liberty would help.

Large date 1970s. I don't see a doubled die neither. Struck Through Grease or weak strike as mentioned above.
Rest in Peace

The devices on LIBERTY are reduced in size from machine damage. It is were hub doubling it would be enlarged, not reduced.
Hub doubled:
1970-S
Machine damaged (it could be minor or very strong):
1970-S
The 1968-1972 years have a lot of MD examples.
