Cracked with a chip. Seem to be an area that the shield cents have this often.

Just found a 2012 that looks very similar to this one. Weak area of the die?

Just the word TRUST in that area. But seems to be a weak area of the design.

The " crack" travelling northeast looks like damage to me. Nice find though, on the crack and chip.( JMO)

It is incuse with a punch in it? A crack is in relief on the coin, like the other parts.

Die crack is a crack in the die, raised now on a coin:

A die chip is when a portion of the die breaks away from the cracked area. (now leaving a higher raised event on the coins struck by it.
