...and I'm the people who love finding dateless buff's in circulation crhing, lol. Oldest thing I'd ever spend would be a 1940 Jefferson nickel, however I never spend nickels and nor do my parents. Usually always keep them for ones to swap out when I'm CRHing. Which is ironic, because I just had a discussion with my parents this morning since they actually needed one, lol. I had to fork one over :( I never spend wheat cents or toss them back into circulation. My LCS pays $0.03 per cent no matter what the condition is.

Cents 1910 Nickels 1940 Dimes and quarters 1964 halves and dollars 1971 I have spent dateless buffalos and some V nickels. Hard to convince a cashier that a V nickel is actually a US coin and can be spent.

I know this is in the US section but personally I would consider 1930's Swiss 5 and 10 Rappen to be worth face only. For domestic currency I would consider 1969 1 Krona and for the US, Nickels pre-1950.

Quote: I don't think most of the respondents understood the question (or maybe I don't). At this writing, most people answered they would not spend 1965 clad coinage. I don't understand that. You misunderstood the question. People would spend 1965 clad coinage.

I spend all clad coinage 1965 and later. Nickels, I'll spend if it's 1960 or later, and I might spend 1959-1965 pennies if they're not very shiny.

A couple months ago at work, I used a dateless 1913 buff to buy a War Nickel out of my drawer. Not sure if that was a good trade or not... I'd be tempted to spend any worn coin that I already have an example of (besides silver coins).

There are exceptions on most of coins I spend. I keep mint condition LMC cents pre 82 copper or most of older zincolns, S mints and some P mints of State and ATB Quarters, since we don't see many out West. It take awhile for the newer P mints to find from circ. for sets. I still need several P coins for my state and ATB sets
