It's not ebay...it's the product. Too many minted in regards to previous versions, and plenty for sale right now.

Check back in a year....probably still not winners but they may sell at a reasonable gain...(or not )

I find ebay the best venue for determining current value....key word is "current".

I agree. Simple economics and ebay is a good venue to observe market forces in action.

I think wait and see is the right course of action here. I think they will spring back a bit.

I just received two of these sets for Christmas. One of the sets only had the bottom half of the capsule for the reverse proof coin. The coin was still sitting in the bottom part of the capsule with no top. The coin doesn't look very good, looks like an orange-ish smear from his forehead to the rim of the coin. Has this ever happened to anyone else? I sent the mint an email and requested a new capsule. Will the mint send me a new capsule or will they tell me I am out of luck?

Ouch.

I am not sure if the Mint will help. Let us know if they do.

I wonder what the grading companies do with all the capsules after the coins have been slabbed.

Here's a complete set of packaging (including capsules) from ebay for $10:

Teach: If you need a capsule I can send one to you. Just email me your address. I usually have NGC return the capsules to me....

The mint basically said I was out of luck, it has to be sent back to them within 7 days and that there is no holiday return policy. So, sorry about your luck. If I can get a good picture of the coin I will post it. It looks like a rust colored streak about the width of a pencil streak from the forehead to the rim. I also noticed this coloring above his ear as well which is in line with the other more visible streak.
