I got mine, they came from inside the teller machine though, so there are a couple of handling marks visible. Still better than nothing. Mine are FWT 0046918 - 20. One's going to a friend, I'm keeping two (or just one, if I need to spend the other).

I just grabbed one at ATB Financial an hour ago - of course this probably won't help most of you because you won't have any ATB Financials.

Apparently they only got the $20 shipment today. The teller said that he had wondered why the bank had received so many $20s that morning, because they hadn't actually ordered any - guess I was the first person to ask for one.

I am willing to bet there are far less than a thousand hard core collectors of Canadian Bank notes in Canada. The new twenty is IMHO just a brutal effort. Hardly a true commemorative. Maybe a commemorative strip but that is about it. The BOC could have done a much better effort for this occasion.
Note to hoarders........one for the collection is plenty......see the dated 1967 one for future potential appreciation.
See me at the flea market for all you want for about three bucks each on those beauties.

I disagree.... I like it being rather subtle, much like the 1967 notes were. This note has a classic look to it, and comes at a time with the RCM is pumping out cartoon coins and comic book characters and bedazzled coins with bits of crystal and glass....

But I digress, I am a coin guy - let's hear what the paper money collectors have to say.

The commemorative security strip is a nice addition, but I think it will go unnoticed to the public. Perhaps the BoC is just waiting for 2017 to do a totally redesigned commemorative banknote.

I got one today from a teller, clean and crisp so I will put it away. I will look for a special serial number but I'm more into coin.

Lot of them for sale on ebay for $40. I have a bunch of the lower numbers from the FWS prefix not listed as my scanner broke this week.

Most fresh polymer notes have a degree of curl around the holographic strip - I assume it's just an artifact of how the notes are produced. Perhaps certain climactic or storage conditions can worsen the curl?
