The 2 sets sent to me had crappy rp's. The worst I've got so far. One rp has brown smudges all over it. The medals look good though. My other 2 sets are stuck in my sisters mailbox as it was a bigger box than usual. Going over there today with pry bar

Quote:Right, because you clearly are going to send yours in for grading then flip it on ebay and make a fortune. No. It would just be cool knowing I got something like this directly from the mint. Quote: I'm glad were done for the rest of the year on these sets, I was getting paranoid and anxious on order days. Yeah, who knows how long of a break we are going to get before Reagan is released. Enjoy the downtime!

I'm sure the Mint will produce and market something else for us to clamor over to fill the gap...

Well 2 of my 4 are zip lip varieties. Now all we need is a good article and collector interest All rp's are crap. Nothing with a chance at 70. Worst rp's yet for me. Which is odd as it seems like quality was better on these. I think I'll be keeping these ones in ogp as I've lost the fever

Cascade, yours may be damage from the crowbar to remove them from the mailbox! :) Same as you, I have 2 with, and 2 without. How are your medals? All 4 of mine are very nice, although the design is not my favorite.

The medals are fine don. Definate 69's with a possible 70 or two. And no crowbar needed, I just angled and pulled. Only damage was 2 diagonal corners being flattened and scuffed.

Got mine today. It's a decent looking set. Although I will say that the medal in the Johnson set is my least favorite, the Ike medal was easily my favorite of the medals. Overall the mint did a solid job with this series in the overall presentation.

Got my 2 sets in. I will say there is one set where I honestly think the coin could get a PF70, and the other one would be an easy PF69, but I highly doubt a 70 with how stringent they are with these. Contemplating if I want to send in just the one set where I think would have a good chance or both for continuity sake (since my other C&C sets are graded and might as well have them all graded).

I got my 2 sets in the mail last Saturday, have yet to even open the box. I might just keep it sealed if I have the willpower.

Stop kidding yourself. You don't have the willpower. Go ahead and open the box.

Received this from a friend at the Mint regarding the LBJ set's silver medal description error:
"Unfortunately there was a design description error printed inside the folder of the 2015 Coin and Chronicles Set - Lyndon B. Johnson. The text in the folder describing the silver medal reverse reads "The reverse includes the date of his inauguration: January 20, 1965." The text should have read "The reverse includes the date the president first took office: November 22, 1963." The Mint apologizes to its customers for this error."
Looks like it was just a mistake when designing the packaging. Ah well...
