I got my 2 Teddy sets around the same time as jbuck.
There were a lot of discussions AND self convincing..... not many were buying, it was a slow sale.

Based on the jfk backorder, the first 17,000 of these may ship right away and the last 8,000 will go out before Christmas?

I had little interest at first, but the thread helped convince me it was something I would like. I am glad I gave it, I still love that set since it is a very different package than the current crop. Well I am not sure if the deal with the Kennedy is due to the fact there are almost 3x as many as the Truman/Eisenhowers or the fact that many people didn't get the first two and aren't trying to get any more just to have an incomplete set... I still think 25k will be gone quickly but who knows... either way I am selling mine though thought I would fall in love with them (and for the first two medals I actually did), but I would rather put that money to my 7070, hence my recently purchased CBQ. Will be posting mine to the CCF for people to save on ebay fees at first. I will still try to get 2 of the Johnsons for my mom and one to flip as payment for that set. Good luck to all! |

Ya, I'm sure the "rebound" effect has something to due with it. Meaning that with the fervor and excitement of the first two, this one at a much higher (but still super low) mintage of 50k just wasn't the ticket for many of the flippers and casual buyers. Like I said, it has turned from a feeling of excitement to obligation. Heck, the excitement bubble has burst so effectively that the truman and ikes are taking a hit at around $180 +/-. Still though, these will be keys & semi keys of a set that WILL be collected in the future. Imho, these will be great long term items to hold

Yeah I will probably be kicking myself in the future... but if I could get a decent amount towards a Seated Liberty dollar or something of that caliber, I would take that definitely :) more towards my main goals of collecting anyways. We will see down the road just how hard I will be kicking myself... lol |
