Hello all, I picked this up because it looked like it was clashed. When I looked closer and seen what looks like a S under the last S in STATES. if this coin is not clashed, could it of been Double Struck. Thank you for the help.

Seems completely normal to me, perhaps with an uneven alloy mix.

It's a great coin. It's in pretty fine condition. As far as being double struck, I doubt it because it doesn't look it to me. I could be wrong. Maybe it wasnt allowed to fully settle after it was struck. I have heard that moving coins after they are struck can slightly change them. Still a great and collectible find.

I would not post a coin if it looked normal to me. Take a look at the letters. I've never seen letters that had what looked like other clashed or struck letters under them.

No need to defend yourself, I posted what I thought about the coin based on the photos that you have provided, and I just don't see it.

Please keep your replies civil. You posted the coin for an opinion which you received IMO an honest reply. Your comment was uncalled for and has been removed.-echizento.
