Archeo1982, you must be quite the digger! A very nice selection of coins you have sir! I've just recently began expanding a bit more into the ancients category. Here's three I just got from Finn, Guess the third one may count as a German State...?

I haven't posted coins in a while so here are a few of my acquisitions from the last numismata coin fair in Berlin. I think of about 10 or 11 coins that I got only 2 or 3 were actually new types in my collection. However, the others helped me to improve in terms of grades.

I got post from Sweden today. Among others, it included a beautiful Pfennig from Prussia. It shows an amazing tone and is probably the coin with most die cracks that I've ever seen.

Hesse-Darmstadt (Ludwig III). Only .166 fine silver. At a mere 14mm in diameter, it's another of those diminutive coins that leads one to wonder how many were simply lost. With more than 375K struck, this year's mintage was the largest of any for this type, which was produced from 1858 through 1872.

Just a common & ordinary Prussian pfennig, but it was just a bit too nice to leave amongst a bunch of "culls" I was looking through today (I almost didn't put this up since Potsdam posted an even better one here a little over a month ago).

This more modern notgeld issue might be stretching the topic parameters a bit, but I thought it was interesting for its depiction on the obverse of the ruins of a villa from the Roman imperial period. It's numbered 549.7 in the Funck catalog and is ferrous in composition.

I recently received these coins. I don't know a whole lot about them, only that they are German state coins.
