Im sorry if this has been asked before. Ive bought a few 100 pound coins for £100 from The Royal Mint just as long term collectibles.

Can anyone tell me how easy these are to cash in? and secondly if the UK ever joined the Euro, would these become worthless?

Silly questions but wont be after they've been answered. Thanks

Hello from the UK too.

I don't think any shops would take them as they wouldn't know what they were, or if they were real etc.

You'd probably have better luck at a bank.

Currently they make £120-£140 or thereabouts on ebay so that might be your best bet if you need to sell.

In the (very unlikely) event that we join the Euro I'm sure that these would be treated just like any other legal tender - so I wouldn't worry.

Welcome to CCF.

The mint never intended on folks cashing them in but to set a base value when you wanted to resell the coin.

The Big Ben one was the first issue and sold out in 11 days. The 2nd one is at 80% sold.

So if you want to sell quickly, then ebay.

Otherwise, still around, get active here, and if you still want to sell in the future, offer for sale here when rules allow you to do so. That way, you save on ebay fees.
