Cascade ....good eye GSA boxes 82, 83, 84 and 85 CC two soft packs are 1878 CC ---------------------------------------------
Nice 1894 Moe .. one of the five I need.
If I remember right 1894 has a mintage of 110,000. Only ones lower are the 1893 S and the 1895.
----------------------------------------- terry8835 There are 96 different date and mint mark coins. Most do not count the 1895 as part of a collectable set. for 1895 there were 880 proof coins minted, no business strikes have been found. So for most, a full set is 95 coins.

I normally have one of each major type...I succumbed to temptation and acquired another. How about that for a teaser?

I took pictures of all of my Morgans (mostly raw) just for this thread. Can't wait!

Front row: Morgan dollars taken from circulation fron the 1940s and 1950s, by relatives. The last one taken from circulation was in 1957 or 1958, at the Louisville, KY airport. I was present when that one was received in change. I don't recall which of the 6 front-row Morgans it was. Middle row: 3 tubes (60) Morgan dollars, purchased as bullion silver (but in EF condition, so not truly junk silver.) These are all very common dates. Back row: Morgan dollars from the GSA CC hoard, purchased back in the 1970s directly from the government. I have individual pics of these, and will post some of them (one per year) to this thread when the time comes.

Quote: Wow, single owner gsa's A few of those were originally purchased by my father, after seeing the ones I was getting. I suppose those would be two-owner GSAs? Also note: some of those in the back row just empty boxes, since the most expensive GSA CCs are in the safety deposit box.

Although I do have a few "choice" Morgan dollars that I have separately photographed and will share on the appropriate days, most of my collection of Morgan dollars consists of unsorted and unphotographed tubes that I obtained back when I was stacking silver. I checked for rare dates, of course, but that was about it. I also have a number of DMPL examples that I keep in individual capsules to protect them, but once again I haven't bothered to individually photograph them. Anyway, here's the lot:
