It depends. Many VAMs carry modest, if any, premium over a "regular" Morgan dollar. If your VAM is a Hitlist 40, Top 100, one of the Elite clashed dies, etc. or a variety that is R5 or better it might be worth a resubmit for attribution, but you run the risk of the coin losing a grade if it's already overgraded. I love the scarcer VAMs but as a buyer and collector there is a limit to how much I'll pay over book just to get a particular VAM; I prefer to look for unattributed coins, personally, unless I have the chance to buy an attributed VAM at low markup. Some of the more well known VAMs will always bring a premium (O/O, O/S, S/S, O/CC, major die clashes, tail bar, spaghetti wing, spitting eagle, hot lips .. etc) and are usually worth attribution.
