Good morning everyone I found what looks like initials HR on an 1874 3 cent piece
I imagine its after the fact but has anyone seen this before?

The term is "countermarked" or "counterstruck" meaning somebody used a punch and hammer after it left the mint.

Although TECHINCALLY damaged ( PMD), they were often used as advertising and are collectable themselves under the category of "exonumia".

People often put their own initials on coins, pictures (such as a pipe for Abe to smoke), state outlines, etc.
