The ebay pics are horrible, of course, trying to hide the deception...but I took the ebay coin (left) and put it next to a PCGS XF40 at the same resolution. I'll point some things out: - Color - Not sure how describe it other than a hue to the brown. 1940's coins have a certain color and look that likely corresponds to alloy variations - decades apart from 1914. - Spacing between the 1 & 4. HUGE gap on the fake. - Rim, the fake is a slight MAD, too thin in spots. 1914D rims are usually nice and thick. - MM - Way too high, a position I'm sure one could match-up with a 44D without looking too hard.
