In our continued effort to improve performance, I would like to know if any of you regulary uses the search page, how often do you use it and what feedback can you give us about the way it performs.
Thx

I use it quite often 3-4 times a week I have found it to be useful and I have ferered others to it. Performance is not questionalble at this point.

I don't think I have used it much. I typically go straight for the Active Topics link and go from there.

I use it from time to time and it has worked well for me.

Ok, thx for the input. Please let me know if you have problems with this. I'm preparing a new search page, code wise, cause this one is not usually very fast on bigger forums.

There is a forum search at the top of the page called ready for this you better sit dowm-- "SEARCH" this searches the forum There is a second search link on the left side of the page in the middle called "Google Site Search" this engine lets you choose to search either the web or the site. Happy recon

Has worked well for us Rui. However, I do know what you mean, I watched it degrade on a different Snitz forum as they grew.

You know Bobby, the fact that Snitz supports 3 Dbs is, sometimes, a disadvantage. If that shows anywhere, it's definitely the search page, where the use of features supported by all 3 Dbs makes it a poor performer in any forum with a few thousand posts.
The alternative to this is, quite simply, to rewrite the search page for each DB. I've done some changes for SQL Server (the one I prefer) and other members have done it for MySQL. If the need ever arises here, I'll just tweak one of the available mods for MySQL.
