From the same box and on the heels of my best 1940's era wheat comes this one.

1936s with wonderful detail and shine although there are some areas of tarnish on the front. Excellent coin to find in circulation and quite a box I'm working on.

In my two years of searching, I've never found a single d or s mint penny before 1942 , much less an AU! Hopefully, I'll find one in the next batch...

Reminds me of how I found a 1936 penny in the trash, my neighbors were throwing a bunch of stuff on the curb for pickup, and after sifting through it, I found a box with a bunch of change in it, including that penny!
