@canadian-banknotes, is the CAC sticker a good thing or a bad thing if you are looking for a lowball?

It's a good thing - The coin is accurately graded and original without any damage that may have been overlooked by a TPG.

A user on another forum called John Albanese to ask "what a sticker or rejection for a sticker, means for a PO1 coin" John's response is quoted below:

Quote:
If a PO1 coin has a sticker, it means it's a coin that, while completely worn out, doesn't have too many other issues like minor damage, uneven wear from being bent and straightened, or signs of corrosion or stains or scratches that grading services may consider market acceptable for the grade. It does not mean that a PO1 is any closer to either a FR2 or a completely smooth planchet. It means it's a "wholesome" coin.

Ok yep that was exactly what I was wondering since it seems like the lowballer's goal is to have the nicest, most worn coin possible.

A George III halfpenny of the earlier type struck at the Tower Mint. My impression is that the barely visible last digit of the date is (was) a "4" so I'm going with 1774, but my confidence in that aspect of the identification isn't high.
