The only one to sponsor since my MD find is Kellyco (they sold me the detector and equipment), they are sending me a Nel attack coil (bigger). I made the live find video exclusive on my friend Blake's MD Facebook page, he works at Kellyco and was a big help in helping choose the Nel tornado coil for my Garrett AT Pro. What will the nick do as far as grading it, can it still grade MS ? Thank you & yes I will post pics of it graded & slabbed as soon as I get it back. Thank you for any help. The video & other photos are on this FB page- *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

When I seen gold, I had such an adrenaline high that I said in the video- " Today is March 5th, when it was November 5th. I went to a local smoke shop that day to buy an accurate scale.

I am an ancients collector, not a specialist in U.S. gold.
Whenever I see such a coin as this, of which I have little specialist about, my first resort is to go to Google Images, in this case, '1806 half eagle', and follow up on each of the most appropriate images to educate myself.
I would also most probably Google Image 'fake 1806 half eagle'.
It is well known that every date of U.S. gold has been faked in good gold.

Wouldn't a colonial site be considered historical? I wouldn't think they would allow everyday Joe to dig 13 inches into the dirt and then keep their find.
I don't know enough about this coin to speculate if it is real or not but the story seems too far fetched to me.

It will be interesting to hear what PCGS says on it.

It completely depends on who owns the land. If it was private land that was settled on in the 1750's, then it is completely up to the owner of the land whether they allow someone to dig on their land.

100 % legal, my friend's land which is now a corn field. I dig history & coins and have donated many important artifacts to local museums. As far as whether or not anyone thinks it is real- go to this page, join and watch my live find video *** Edited by Staff - Please review the rules that you agreed to when you registered. ***

people have a hard time believing this can be found metal detecting that's why I say it is the find of 10 lifetimes. Been detecting for over 25 years. 2-3 weeks and I'll have it back slabbed & graded from PCGS and that'll put a rest to any doubt, but I do understand doubters.

If real a spectacular find. I hope it is.
I don't think it's just people cant believe it was found metal detecting. We've seen some unbelievable finds here. It is a combination of it, us being trolled by people testing counterfeits on us recently, and the coin looking a bit off to some of us.
How did the colonial coins look? Can we see some pics please? Sounds like you've got quite the honey hole there.

The one is a large, I think 1798. The other 2 I believe is a connecticut colonial & a Montreal half penny token
