1871:   Note -- these are old film photos (from the 1990s or before), since the lighting for the obverse image was too harsh when I took the digital replacement photos some months ago.

They look good to me. I often prefer film photos, they're just expensive to take.

The biggest problems with film closeup/macro photography are the lack of live view for accurate focusing, and lack of immediate feedback so the photo can be taken again with adjustments. All my film coin photos are fuzzy, some moreso than others. White balance is often poor, and many of these photos are not exposed well. - - - - Notice how much more detail is visible in the replacement digital image for the reverse:
