Hello,

These are the pictures of a coin I bought on ebay years ago. The seller said what the coin was but shipped it with no documentation and I didn't go back to the listing to write it down. I thought I would just look it up.

Well, I can't find the coin in KP publications and am now I'm asking you for your help in identifying the coin.

I would guess at India 1/2 Tanka 898 (AD 1492 - 1493) - hopefully someone will chip in with the ruler etc (SULTANS OF MALWA
Ghiyath Shah ?)

I agree: likely a 1/2 tanka of Ghiyas Shah, Malwa Sultanate.

Thank you, rooneydog and Bob L. I appreciate the information.

Is this coin rare because I can't find one just like it anywhere on the Internet?

It is possibly described as 1/2 Rupee - have a look at top right coin here
