I used another four coins in the last few days. I used two 'Prez' dollars for partial payment on a drink last Thursday, and another two 'Prez' bucks at bowling (again) Monday. I'm in two 'senior' leagues. The woman who collects for the over-average game really likes getting the dollar coins. The two I gave her Monday were both Polk, and she might have actually voted for him. Oops, forgot to mention.......$54,514.00 to go!

As a side note: I mentioned on an earlier post that I am having a tough time getting a 'supply' of dollar coins to use in this project. I stopped at my bank Monday morning and asked for some. They only had two to trade with me, along with one Kennedy half. Those are the only two dollar coins I have left right now. I guess I should go to some banks I don't deal with to try to increase my supply. Also, the teller at MY bank told me Monday that there is another guy that comes in their branch looking for dollar coins too. He told me they were able to give him around $40 in dollar coins last week. I wonder if he is in this group?

Good news! I went to another bank (Huntington) yesterday and they were delighted that I asked them to take some of their 'golden' dollars off their hands. I was able to get $100 worth (35 Sac's and 65 Prez). They told me come in anytime, as they always had a lot.
I'll look through the 2000-P Sac's to find those elusive Cheerio's (I hear that there are still thousands out there somewhere)
Otherwise: I used 3 Sac's for a tip at the coney restaurant, and 3 more for a Pepsi at bowling today.
$54,508.00 to go!

...just got back from the Fort Morgan area of Gulf Shores, Alabama ... spent a total of 3 IKES ... ...The best experience was at the Original Oyster House resturant in gulf Shores ... the waitress was originally from Ukraine, moved & worked here for the last 3.5 years ... she excitedly ask what the coin was ... I told her that these dollars were minted around 50 or so years ago, & ,that if she wished, she could still spend it ... "OH NO !!!...my 9 year old son has just started to collect coins from my change, & he will love this...!!!" ...Well, that made my day, & I wished I had brought more to give her ... (... I only have 2 left, & am looking for a reasonable source for a few rolls ... )

I can only imagine how hard it is to get Ike's, although I've NEVER ever asked for them. I've got 34 Ike's in my possession right now, but I paid 'big bucks' for them, and I won't be giving those away.

...@atticguy ... got a number of them from a neighbor who's husband had hoarded with a lot of other loose change from the '70s through 2015 ... had about 25 origionally & have spent all but two ... ...eBay has offerings at about $2 per coin ($40 per roll) shipped ... this is the best price I can find, & will probably spring for a roll just for the novelty of catching people's reaction when spending them ...

I stopped at my "new" bank today and got another $100 in dollar coins. 67 were Prez bucks, 32 were Sac's, and I found one Suzie in the bunch too!
As for usage: I used TWO for my Mystery game at bowling on Wednesday, THREE last night for the usual Pepsi at my other bowling center, and used THREE more this afternoon as a tip for the omelet I had at a small restaurant nearby.
Total usage = 8, so....

Quote: Total corrected. OOPS! Thanks jbuck. I used another NINE (all Sac's) today. I went with a buddy to a coin show near Flint, Michigan. I helped set-up and watch his table and keep him company. While there, I used FIVE to buy 50/50 raffle tickets, and another FOUR for a Sloppy Joe at the food counter. $54,488.00 to go!

I used another dozen dollar coins today.
First, as usual, I used TWO to pay for my "Mystery Game" entree fee at bowling. After bowling, I decided to get pizza for lunch/dinner. I used TEN coins as partial payment at Hungry Howies.
