Can anyone tell me what the squiggly rim thing on this dime is from? I know this dime has been through alot, but it's kind of neat looking, it's got weird things all over it. I'll submit a an image. Tell me what you think.

It's just a big hit, all damage - Throw a dime around in your driveway and take a look at it after.

I know it's a spender, and I'm new at looking at all my change:) But what would cause the squiggle? Heat?

US dimes, quarters, and half dollars are composed of three layers with cupronickel cladding on the outside and a core of pure copper on the inside. The outer cupronickel clad layer was peeled up and then folded over, it is just a continuation of the damage covering the rest of the coin.
