g,day Quote: Also bear in mind that if you intend on purchasing any of the keys slabbed, then you'd have to crack them out to put them in the page. Personally I'd just put a placeholder coin in the key's place and keep it in the slab for protection and possible resale value. I have enquired about slabbing, apparently it costs about 40 to 50 au to get a coin done depending on quality plus the trackable post plus insurance, considering most of my stuff is just for fun I could probably buy a considerable amount of coins for the same amount hey! rg Al

Quote: In light of the geographic distance between Australia and the USA, I think you're doing remarkably well. How long have you been at it? Where do you find US-cents? While Canada and Bahamas are close enough to make it into our circulation, I have never seen and Australian cent in change.
I recently spent money on some Fiji pennies (King Edward VIII) but that's as close to your shores as I have. Granted, I don't actively collect world coins, but if you want to do some trades after the New Year, keep me in mind. g,day I bought a bag of mixed coins about ten years back and never touched them until 2015, wait till you see my 5c. I also got a lot from a friend in Canada mainly my state 1/4 sets. I would love to trade but the system wouldn't let me in the trade section,? when you are ready just add .com.au to my signature name and it will take you to my new site which is now ready for personal trade regards Al

Quote: I prefer the look of your 2X2 pages over most, if not all, of the albums I've seen. I bought the aussie version of the 3d 6d 1/- and florin press in coin books and then pushed my way through 3 of the books tearing holes everywhere they average $28 each and $18 dollars for 2x2 so I did the logic math hey! and I agree I can also keep all my 2x2 files into a filing system rg Al

Quote: Rather than cracking them out of the slabs, you might want to take a picture of the coin in the slab on both the obverse and reverse, add the appropriate date/mm to the obverse photo, make the size 100% and cut the copies to 1.9". You could then insert the photo of the coin in the slab in to your 2 X 2 pages and still keep the slab as is. I discovered on a group the other day that some IT dealers are cracking the slab giving it a bit of a clean then re-sending the unit back for grading some up to 3 times until they get the grade they wanted just to be able to flog it for more regards Al

Al, just a bit of advice- I know you're fairly new, but it's generally frowned upon to post multiple times in a row. For instance, you just posted 10 times in a row when you could have put that text in one post. I don't really mind, but just keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for keeping us informed, though.

Thanks for the advice I was trying to reply to each of the people that had seen the post individually, no worries. regards Al

For what it is worth, I have no problem with the multiple reply posts (one to each person) as long as they are substantial, which the majority of yours seem to be.
What we really have a problem with are the multiple generic one-liner posts that are directed to all. All of those should be in one post.
I should also add that if you are posting multiple photos, putting just one or two photos per post is helpful (to keep page sizes manageable). I would much rather see ten pictures in ten consecutive replies than all ten in one post. If we had ten people doing the latter, then we will have 100 images on one slow loading page. This is less critical in a thread like this, with just one person sharing images, than in a thread like the "Share your," "How far back," or "Days of" type threads with everyone sharing photos.

All right, sounds good. I agree that all of your posts were substantial, so we're all good.
